Headshots, Selfies and Malcontent

Between training for the inevitable Zombie Apocalypse and the holiday season, I should be really chipper. I even had an amazing workshop with a stellar casting director that put me on top of the world.

Until I got my headshots back. They’re very pretty pictures, but when I look at them, I don’t recognize myself. I look old. And fat.

Part of it was really poor wardrobe choices on my end, but even some of the angles of my face are just so weird to me. I’ve realized that when I get crazy self conscious (like when getting professional headshots for the first time…) I tend to try to emphasize my boobs. It’s like a security blanket. I mean, I’ve had them since like, the 2nd grade and even when I was a fatty I knew I could wear low cut shirts and get attention. Hell, even my boyfriend will tell you it’s why he was interested in the first place.

However, I’ve noticed that when I try to emphasize the girls, the rest of me looks bigger than normal. You think I would learn this, but I haven’t. Le sigh.

Maybe I’m being too picky, but when you pay money for photos, I think stress is justified.

You can view my headshots on Facebook if you so desire.

Just to be sure I wasn’t crazy in thinking I’m thinner than I really am, I took some mirror selfies:

I’m not the tiniest person ever, but I do think I look much smaller in real life than my headshots would lead you to believe.

Oh well, what’s done is done. All I can do now is keep pushing forward and keep training hard.

Today’s workout: SPRINTS

I’m not a runner, but we all will be once the end of the world comes, so you’ll want to be the best you can be.

Many of us do just fine running on a flat surface, but once the hills come in: KILLER. Don’t worry; you don’t need to sprint super high hills yet… we’ll build to that.

So reach deep inside and find whatever motivation you need to sprint fast. Increasing your VT2 will help not only in combating walkers, but in the rest of your workout routine as well. So get on it.
